The CV Art Fest returned this past weekend and was bigger and better than ever. Held on Saturday, August 10th, from 12 PM to 6 PM, this event brought together the Chula Vista community to celebrate local art, live music, and family-friendly activities. Here’s a look back at the highlights of this vibrant community event.
A Thriving Community Turnout
This year’s CV Art Fest saw a significant increase in attendance compared to last year. The event, which struggled to gain exposure during its inaugural run, made a strong comeback, attracting a diverse crowd of families, art enthusiasts, and community members. The positive energy was palpable as people relaxed on the lawn, enjoyed the music, and supported local vendors.
Everyone had a great time at the CV Art Fest this past Saturday. There were good vibes all around. Along with all the art, they also had summertime activities for people to enjoy.
Showcasing Local Talent
The CV Art Fest indeed highlighted the artistic talent within Chula Vista. From photographers like Steve Wood, who captured stunning sunset photos, to independent artists like Karen Alleluia, selling her artwork and stickers, the variety of art displayed was impressive. The event also featured live painting sessions by Ground Floor Murals and Shirish Villaseñor, adding an interactive element that engaged attendees throughout the day.
Music That Set the Tone
Live music was a major draw at the CV Art Fest. The day started out with a performance by Shwayze, setting a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Later, Bruno and the Hooligans turned up the energy with a performance with the crowd dancing on the lawn. YESS!!! The Tender Hooligan is now open in Downtown Chula Vista, and I’m happy to share the news. I have posted a few videos about this hot new spot on 3rd Avenue. I was invited to their friends and family opening on Friday. As soon as you walk into this place, you realize it is not like anything else in the area. I love the decor, the vibes, and, of course, the bar area. The owners are super happy about being in the community and want to welcome everyone. It’s a great spot to come in, chill out, and listen to some records. They serve beer, wine, and coffee. I had a few of their specialty beers during my visit. Make sure you check them out, it’s on the north end of downtown close to E St. Let’s support this great new spot.

The Third Avenue district, in particular, is quickly becoming *the* spot to hang out, soak in the good vibes, and enjoy some truly great food. Farmer’s Table Expands in Chula Vista
Three distinct dining experiences come together in Chula Vista’s downtown scene, creating a food lover’s paradise under one roof. This exciting development includes a Roman-style Italian restaurant and a barbecue eatery joining the popular Farmer’s Table Chula Vista. I’m super excited to learn more about the BBQ option!!
In early 2021, Farmer’s Table—an establishment that beautifully blends Italian and country-style cuisine—opened its fourth location in Chula Vista. This 10,000-square-foot space, formerly Marie Callender’s, is about to become even more vibrant with two new dining ventures. It’s also my go-to spot for happy hour or Sunday brunch. Everything on their menu is delicious.
You can not go wrong with ordering dessert when you visit the Farmer’s Table. We always get the cannolis.
Authentic Italian Flavors with Acqua E Farina Trattoria Romana
One of the new arrivals, Acqua E Farina Trattoria Romana, will bring a true taste of Italy to Chula Vista. Expect to indulge in traditional cheese wheels, homemade pasta, and signature pizzas that will transport your taste buds straight to Rome.
The bar will also be impressive, offering classic cocktail pairings and refreshing sangrias in unique flavors like mango and watermelon. And for those with a sweet spot for Italian specialties, Tiramisu martinis, espresso martinis, and Aperol Spritz will be on the menu.
Introducing a New Barbecue Experience
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. A barbecue concept will also find its home within the same space, adding to the diverse dining options available. Farmer’s Table will continue to operate during its regular hours, but the newly renovated space will adapt to feature different dining concepts at different times. The front signage will rotate to highlight the current theme, and the interior design will shift to match the vibe, ensuring a fresh experience every time you visit. I have patiently waited for a good BBQ spot in downtown Chula Vista. They better not disappoint me.
