Chula Vista Yard House finally opening this Sunday September 28th

Chula Vista Yard House

What is happening Chula Vista?! Put down that leftover pizza and listen up because I’ve got news that’s going to make your Sunday way more exciting. The brand new Chula Vista Yard House at Otay Ranch Town Center is FINALLY opening this Sunday at 11 AM!

I know, I know. You’re probably thinking, “Didn’t they already say it was opening like three times?” Trust me, I feel you. We first told you about this place back in July when it was supposed to open on September 8th. Then it got pushed to September 14th. Now here we are with the ACTUAL opening date, and honestly, good things come to those who wait (even if we’re getting a little impatient).

My Sneak Peek Adventure

I got to peek inside this Tuesday, and wow. They wouldn’t let me take photos, but trust me when I say this place is HUGE. Way bigger than I thought it would be. If you have a large party, this is your new spot, as they have large tables for big groups.

I met Lane, one of the managers, who was running around putting finishing touches on everything. The poor guy looked like he hadn’t slept in days, but he was still super excited. “We’re really excited about opening, and finally getting people inside, having fun and enjoying themselves is what I love,” he told me while adjusting what looked like the millionth chair.

Lane also mentioned something that made me laugh. “People keep asking me every time I’m outside when we’re opening, and it feels good being able to tell them this Sunday.” I can totally picture this because I’ve probably asked him that question myself at least twice while walking through the mall.

What Makes Chula Vista Yard House Special?

Okay, let me paint you a picture. This isn’t just another restaurant. The Chula Vista Yard House is basically a beer lover’s dream come true. They have 90 draft beers on tap. NINETY! That’s more beer options than I have streaming services (and that’s saying something).

They offer a wide range of options, from American craft beers to imported ones, as well as local selections carefully curated by the management team. The coolest part? There’s this glass-enclosed keg room where they store up to 4,000 gallons of beer. It’s like a beer museum, but better because you can actually drink what’s inside.

All those beers get pumped through overhead tubes to the bar, and every single one comes out at exactly 36 degrees. That level of beer science impresses me more than it should.

The Food Menu

Now, I’m not just here for the beer (okay, maybe I am a little bit). The food menu has over 80 dishes, which is great because I’m one of those people who takes forever to decide what to order. My kids always roll their eyes at me when I ask the server “what’s good here?” for the third time.

They’ve got Poke Nachos, which sounds fancy and delicious. There’s Nashville Hot Chicken for when you want to feel the burn. They have tacos because, let’s be honest, tacos make everything better. And they serve USDA prime burgers, which means I’m definitely going to have to loosen my belt afterward.

The best part? They actually have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. So when my sister visits (she’s on one of those diets that eliminates everything fun), she can still come hang out with us.

You can view their full menu on their website here.

Perfect for Game Day (And Every Other Day)

This place is 9,160 square feet of pure entertainment. They have flat-screen TVs everywhere, along with all the sports packages, so you won’t miss any games. I’m already planning to camp out here during football season, much to my family’s dismay.

General Manager Jason Carr is running the show, and from what I’ve heard, he knows his stuff. Additionally, they offer happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 PM, featuring half-price appetizers and drink specials. That’s dangerous information for someone like me who already struggles with impulse food decisions.

The Grand Opening Game Plan

Yard House Chula Vista will be open every day from 10 AM to midnight, which means you can get your beer and burger fix whenever you want. They’re ready for lunch, dinner, and those late-night cravings we all get.

This is actually Yard House’s third location in San Diego, so they know what they’re doing. The company was founded in Long Beach in 1996 and now operates over 90 restaurants nationwide. Not bad for a place that started with just one location.

My Opening Day Prediction

I have a feeling Sunday is going to be absolutely crazy at Otay Ranch Town Center. I’m talking about a parking lot full, a line out the door, a social media explosion, crazy. My advice? Arrive early, be patient, and consider having a backup dinner plan in case of delays.

Personally, I’m torn between being there right when they open (because I’m nosy and love a good opening day) or waiting a week for the chaos to die down (because I also love being able to find a parking spot). What about you, Chula Vista? Are you brave enough to tackle opening day, or will you wait it out, like me?

Let me know in the comments if you’re planning to check out the new Chula Vista Yard House this Sunday. I’ll be the one taking blurry photos of my food and probably asking the server way too many questions about the beer selection.
