My weekend at the Gaylord Pacific Resort

I spent the weekend checking out the brand new Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center at the Chula Vista Bayfront and I’ve got to say this place did not disappoint. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming, and they genuinely look forward to seeing the community explore the space. One of the coolest things? You don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy it. The bars, restaurants, and public areas are all open for you to walk through and experience. If you haven’t made your way down there yet, this is your sign. I also had the opportunity to tour the Presidential Suite on the 18th floor, where the views are incredible. Additionally, I explored the new spa, the gym area, and, of course, the pool area. Why is there no hispanic market in Eastlake?

I was recently invited to be a guest on the June episode of The Realtor Podcast here in Chula Vista. If you haven’t seen the episode yet, you can check it out here. It was a great experience, and June is an awesome guy you should definitely follow. We discussed a lot of topics, including my motivation behind Chula Vista Living.

One of the questions we addressed was why there are no Hispanic markets in Eastlake. It’s surprising that Eastlake doesn’t have a Northgate or an El Super supermarket. I still can’t understand why there isn’t a Pan Dulce bakery in Eastlake. If I had the resources and the expertise to bake Pan Dulce, I would absolutely open one in Eastlake!

You can walk these trails for free

Many people might not know this, but I wanted to share a little secret: you can walk the trails in front of the Living Coast Discovery Center for free! There’s even a complimentary shuttle that takes you to the trails. I love visiting and walking the bayfront trails, especially on a beautiful day. There are spots where you can sit and relax, and I recently discovered a lookout point that offers a fantastic view of the Gaylord Pacific Resort.

With summer approaching, this makes for a great day trip with the kids. Plus, you can use the restrooms at the Living Coast Discovery Center.

What is happening Chula Vista! Today I wanted to let you know about a brand new promotion at one of my favorite spots for tacos that is Taqueria El Prieto right here on H St. Right now they have a two for one taco deal, that’s right Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 3 PM you can come out here and buy one taco and get another taco free. This is perfect for a quick lunch. I love the tacos here; the tacos de adobada are my favorite. They even had me help out in the kitchen.

They’ve got way more than just tacos on the menu. While I was there, I ordered the Papa Loco — a loaded baked potato stuffed with your choice of meats, then topped with melty cheese and a big dollop of sour cream. So good. You’ll also find a full salsa bar and their frijoles de la olla. Don’t skip the aguas frescas either — I always go for their horchata. And if you’ve still got room, treat yourself to the choco flan for dessert. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious!
