Luscious Dumplings Chula Vista Brings Award-Winning Flavor

Luscious Dumplings Chula Vista

Our Eastlake neighborhood just got a major culinary upgrade. Luscious Dumplings Chula Vista’s location, a name well-known to food lovers across Los Angeles, has officially opened its doors at the Village Walk Marketplace. Even my own family members were asking when this new location was opening. The moment they heard it was coming to Chula Vista, they couldn’t wait. The soft opening over the weekend drew in excited locals ready to welcome this beloved dumpling house into the neighborhood.

Chula Vista’s Foodie Scene Keeps Growing

Over the past few years, Chula Vista has quietly become a destination for food lovers. New restaurants, bars, and food trucks have been popping up, giving locals more to explore without leaving South Bay. Adding to the excitement, the newly opened Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center has introduced several dining options to the area. Notably, Old Hickory Steakhouse offers upscale Surf & Turf dishes in a refined setting, while Growlers Sports Bar & Taproom provides a lively atmosphere with a 75-foot screen and a selection of 24 local craft beers. The arrival of Luscious Dumplings feels like a big moment. It’s not every day that a Bib Gourmand-recognized restaurant chooses our city for its next chapter.

A Family Legacy of Dumpling Craft

Luscious Dumplings was founded in 2001 by Alan Lam and Grace Li in San Gabriel, California. Since then, their handmade Northern Chinese dumplings have earned praise for quality and flavor. With branches in Monrovia and a sister concept, Mason’s Dumpling Shop, the family has built a loyal following. Now, the next generation is bringing their craft to San Diego County, continuing the tradition of making dumplings fresh every day using time-tested methods and top ingredients.

What Locals Are Saying

Even in its soft-opening phase, the new Chula Vista location is already getting great feedback. One visitor shared, “We got the steamed soup dumplings and stewed noodle soup. I love that this new spot is in Chula Vista, and I can’t wait to bring my family next time.”

Another review raved, “Everything was delicious, especially the Popcorn Chicken. The sauce was amazing too! Welcome to the neighborhood!”
