Last weekend for outdoor patios in Downtown

Hey Chula Vista, it’s time to say goodbye to those beloved outdoor patios in Downtown! This weekend is your last chance to enjoy them before they’re gone for good. The city has decided that by Tuesday, September 3rd, at 5 PM, all patios must be removed.

These patios started popping up back in 2020 as a way to help our local businesses during the tough COVID times. Remember how The Vogue Tavern took over three parking spaces to create their cozy outdoor spot? It became a favorite hangout for many of us. But as of June, the city has voted to bring this chapter to an end.

There is a glimmer of hope, though. A new commission has been formed to reevaluate these parklets, and who knows? They might make a comeback in the future.
