Chula Vista Day of the Child 2026

Chula Vista Day of the Child 2026

Every April, Memorial Park in Downtown Chula Vista hosts one of the year’s most anticipated family events. The Chula Vista Community Collaborative is bringing back its annual Day of the Child celebration on Saturday, April 11th, and it’s completely free to attend.

The event is packed with over 100 booths where families can connect with local resources focused on keeping kids safe and healthy. You’ll find pediatric offices, dental providers, and all kinds of community organizations set up and ready to help. Beyond the resources, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained, including school performances, face painting, vendor booths, and special giveaways throughout the day.

The car show is always a highlight. Lowriders and classic cars draw huge crowds every single year, and it’s easy to see why. Last year, around 5,000 people came out to celebrate, and the event just keeps growing.

One thing I love about the Chula Vista Day of the Child event is all the cool low-rider cars they have lined up along Third Avenue

This celebration is rooted in meaningful traditions, drawing inspiration from Mexico’s El Dia del NiƱo and the United Nations’ World Children’s Day, and bringing that spirit right here to the South Bay.

Honestly, this is one of my favorite events all year. I’ve been going for years, and it never disappoints. I actually made a video on it a while back, so head over to my YouTube channel to see it in action.

If you have little ones, this one is a must. Come for the booths, stay for the car show, and soak up a really special community vibe.

I’ll also be there with my own booth selling Chula Vista T-shirts, so come say hi and grab one if you want to show some local pride. We’ll have giveaways too, including free shirts and stickers.

The Chula Vista Community Collaborative has spent more than 30 years connecting families with the resources they need, all in support of giving every student an equal shot at success. This event is a big part of that mission, and it shows.
