Chula Vista Champions Fun Run 2025
This annual event is more than just a race. Alongside the 5K, families can enjoy food vendors, a lively DJ, children’s activities, a vendor expo, and even an opportunity drawing. Whether you plan to run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, the day is filled with energy and entertainment for all ages.
Registration is now open at www.chulavistaca.gov/rec, with early bird pricing available through August 31. Standard registration runs from September 1 through October 23, and day-of registration will also be available. All registered participants receive a race T-shirt and medal, though day-of signups are not guaranteed these items. Children three and under may participate for free, but will not receive race gear.
The Champions Run is a signature event of Chula Vista Parks and Recreation, held in partnership with the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center and the Friends of Chula Vista Parks and Recreation. For 13 years, it has brought the community together while raising money for scholarships that enable children to participate in recreational classes, play sports, and attend camps. Each step taken on race day helps open new doors for local youth.
I’ll be out there again this year supporting the event, and I hope to see Chula Vista show up in a big way to support our Recreation Center. Last year was such a blast—they had so many activities for families, and it was great to see the community come together. Events like this really highlight the spirit of our city, and I can’t wait to cheer everyone on at the starting line.
