Kicking It in Chula Vista: A Day of Soccer, Style, and Song at the Chrome Ball Tour!
Get ready, Chula Vista! The Chrome Ball Tour is making its grand appearance in downtown Chula Vista on Saturday, May 4th, and you won’t want to miss it! Hosted by San Diego FC, this tour stop promises a full day of fun from 12 PM to 10 PM, and the best part is it’s all free to attend!
What’s the Chrome Ball Tour, you ask?
It’s an 18-city series designed to connect communities in San Diego County through our shared love for soccer, art, and local culture. Chula Vista is set to be the fifth and most prominent stop yet. Before arriving here, the tour touched down in Escondido, Oceanside, Poway, and Santee. It’s truly a celebration of everything that makes San Diego unique.

Prepare for a day packed with excitement. The action starts with a thrilling first responders tournament featuring our Chula Vista Fire Department and Police Department teams. But that’s just the beginning. The lineup also includes:
- 11:00 a.m. – Chula Vista First Responders Tournament
- 12:00 p.m. – 3v3 Tournaments Begin: Men’s, Women’s, Youth, High School
- 5:30 p.m. – Youth Final Matches
- 6:00 p.m. – Lucha Libre performance with Masked Republic
- 7:00 p.m. – Men’s & Women’s Final Matches
- 8:00 – 10 p.m. – Fashion Show and Musical Performances by Rossi Rock & Sebby OG, Vilma Diaz y La Sonora, and Lil Rob
Fashionistas and music lovers should prepare for the San Diego FC Colors of the Community Fashion Show. It will spotlight our own Chula Vista natives, Rossi Rock and Sebby OG, alongside tunes from South Bay’s DJ Beto Perez. Plus, the cumbia rhythms of Vilma Diaz y La Sonora and tunes from San Diego’s own Lil Rob will fill the air into the evening.
There’s something for everyone. Kids can dive into activities like face painting and bouncing around in inflatables, while adults can unwind in the beer garden. Also, don’t forget to check out the local artwork and grab some exclusive gear from the Eighteen Threads Merch Trailer, featuring designs from Chula Vista artists Josue Baltezar, Chikle, and Paola ‘Panca’ Villaseñor.
