Gaylord Pacific Winter Wonderland 2026: What to Know Before You Buy Tickets

This holiday season, something is happening on the Chula Vista Bayfront that has never happened here before. Gaylord Pacific Winter Wonderland 2026 is coming November 20th- the giant frozen Christmas attraction- to Chula Vista for the very first time. It’s also the first time ice! has ever come to the West Coast.

I first heard about this when I stayed at the Gaylord Pacific back in 2025. I already knew about the Christmas events at Gaylord’s other resorts around the country, the ones in Nashville, Orlando, Texas and outside D.C., so when I found out Chula Vista was getting its own version, I was genuinely excited. A holiday attraction that people travel across the country to see, right here in the South Bay? Sign me up.

And I did. As soon as they posted that ticket sales were open, I bought two general admission tickets for $35.49 each, for a total of $70.98. We’re going on the second day it’s open, Saturday, November 21st. Now that the full lineup and pricing are out, though, I have some thoughts, and I want residents to go in with their eyes open. I will be sure to post up my honest review along with plenty of photos and videos from my trip.

Let’s Talk About the Price

Here’s the part I’m not so excited about: this is going to be pricey.

When I bought my tickets, I assumed they would cover the Charlie Brown ice experience plus some of the other holiday activities. They don’t. Your ice! ticket gets you into ice! and that’s it. Every other activity is sold separately. That $70.98 I paid covers the ice exhibit only, so if we want to do more than walk through the ice, our night is about to get a lot more expensive.

Here are the starting prices:

  • ice! featuring “A Charlie Brown Christmas”: $34 per person (3 and under free)
  • Snow Tubing: $28.99
  • Photos with Santa: $44.99
  • Gingerbread Decorating Corner: $49.99
  • Mrs. Claus’ Christmas Traditions: $16.99
  • Merry Snoopy Christmas Scavenger Hunt: $14.99
  • Snowball Build & Blast: $14.99

One thing about that ice! Price: The site advertises tickets “starting at $29.99,” but every date I checked was listed at $34, and it was the same price for kids and adults. Keep in mind these are starting prices, so popular dates and times may cost more.

Gaylord Pacific Winter Wonderland
I already have my tickets for the Charlie Brown Christmas ice sculptures. I can’t wait to see it on opening weekend.

What It Costs to Do Everything

I did the math so you don’t have to.

If you go by yourself and do every activity, the tickets alone come to $204.94. Add the $9 online processing fee and $45 for a day of self parking, and you’re at $258.94 out the door, before taxes and before you buy so much as a hot chocolate.

For a family of four, the numbers climb fast. Some activities are priced per person, like ice!, snow tubing and Mrs. Claus. Others are priced per kit, booklet or package that the family can share, like gingerbread, the scavenger hunt, Snowball Build & Blast and the Santa photo. Here’s how it adds up:

  • ice! “Charlie Brown Christmas” for four: $136
  • Snow tubing for four: $115.96
  • Mrs. Claus for four: $67.96
  • One Santa photo package: $44.99
  • One gingerbread kit: $49.99
  • One scavenger hunt booklet: $14.99
  • One bucket for Snowball Build & Blast: $14.99

That comes to $444.88 in tickets. With the $9 processing fee and $45 parking, a family of four is looking at $498.88 out the door. That’s almost $500 before taxes, food, or souvenirs. The resort is cashless, so it all goes on the card.

So if you’re planning to go, my honest advice is to pick the activities that matter most to your family, set a budget, and be ready to spend.

The Ticket Website Is a Little Confusing

Buying tickets for the Gaylord Pacific Winter Wonderland wasn’t as simple as I expected. If you buy a package, you don’t just choose how many tickets you want. You also have to lock in an exact time slot for every activity, right then and there.

The problem is that the site doesn’t say how long most activities last. ice! takes about 20 to 40 minutes, and gingerbread decorating is capped at 30, but for the rest, you’re guessing. The resort is big, so you also need time to walk between areas. If you book slots too close together and miss one, I honestly don’t know whether they’ll let you move to a later time or whether you just lose that window.

Here’s what the resort’s FAQ says. Time changes may be possible depending on capacity, and you can request one by replying to your ticket confirmation email. Guests who show up more than five minutes late to a timed slot aren’t guaranteed entry. My advice: leave plenty of breathing room between your time slots, especially after ice!.

On top of that, a $9 processing fee shows up on the final payment page. It’s charged per order, and since online is the only way to buy, there’s no getting around it. My order back in August didn’t have this fee, so it looks like a newer addition.

Gaylord Pacific Winter Wonderland featuring “A Charlie Brown Christmas”

To be fair to the resort, the main attraction does sound impressive. Artisans from Harbin, China, hand-carve more than two million pounds of ice into a dozen scenes from the Peanuts holiday special. You follow Charlie Brown on his search for what Christmas is really about, with Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the gang along the way, and you finish on two-story ice slides, including a smaller one for little kids.

Inside, it’s kept at 9 degrees, so everyone gets a hooded blue parka at the door. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required, and hats and gloves are recommended. Tickets are single-entry, so once you walk out, you’re done.

Anyone under 18 has to be with a paying adult. Strollers and wagons can’t go inside, but there’s stroller parking outside the exhibit.

The Add-Ons

Snow Tubing ($28.99). A four-lane indoor hill in Tinseltown, covered in real snow, with unlimited runs on your ticket date. Riders need to be at least 42 inches tall and able to carry their own tube up the ramp. It’s one rider per tube, so no little ones on laps.

Snowball Build & Blast ($14.99). You get a bucket of fresh snow to pack into snowballs and launch at targets. One ticket equals one bucket, and your group can share. For many South Bay kids, this might be the first time they ever touch real snow without driving up to Mount Laguna or Julian.

Merry Snoopy Christmas Scavenger Hunt ($14.99). Follow clues through the resort’s atrium to find decorations for Snoopy’s doghouse, then trade your booklet for a prize. It’s priced per booklet, so the whole family can share one.

Gingerbread Decorating Corner ($49.99). Decorate a gingerbread house or cookie at the Sweet Shop, meet Nutmeg the gingerbread man, and take home Mrs. Claus’ cookie recipe. It’s priced per kit, with about 30 minutes to decorate.

Mrs. Claus’ Christmas Traditions ($16.99). A reading of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” in Mrs. Claus’ cottage, with sing-alongs and cookies and milk. Everyone needs a ticket.

Photos with Santa ($44.99). Available November 20 through December 24 only. You have to buy a photo package, and personal cameras and phones aren’t allowed for the photo.

If you would like to purchase tickets, you can do so on their website.

The Free Stuff Is Where I’m Headed

Since we already have our ice! tickets, the complimentary activities are where I’ll be spending the rest of my time. The ticket site lists these as free:

  • Live holiday carolers
  • Strolling entertainment
  • A Letters to Santa station
  • Holiday photo spots around the resort
  • The North Star Christmas Shop
  • Live music in the atrium

Add in the millions of lights and towering Christmas trees, and just walking the resort could make a nice evening on its own. One heads up: on select peak nights, the resort’s restaurants are reserved for overnight guests, so if you want to eat there, make a reservation.

COCA-COLA HOLIDAY CARAVAN — CALIFORNIA 2026
One thing I am looking forward to seeing is the Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan coming to Chula Vista on December 19th through the 22nd. They will be there from 1 pm to 6 pm daily. I don’t know yet whether this will be a paid event or free. I’ll let you know as soon as I find out.

Ways to Save a Little

If you’re going to spend, at least spend smart:

  • Bundle up. The Gold Pass includes ice! plus snow tubing, the scavenger hunt, gingerbread decorating, Snowball Build & Blast and Mrs. Claus for up to 30% off. Santa photos aren’t included. The Silver Bundle covers ice!, snow tubing and the scavenger hunt for up to 20% off. I wish I had known about these when I bought my tickets.
  • Use a discount code. Active and retired military members, teachers, first responders and Scouts can save up to 20% on ice! tickets with MILITARY26, TEACHER26, HERO26 and SCOUT26. With so many military families in Chula Vista, that one is worth sharing. Marriott Bonvoy members can save up to 25% with BONVOY.
  • Park for free in front of the resort. There’s free public parking right in front of the resort, which saves you the $45 garage fee. Spaces are limited, though, and there’s a 3-hour limit that I fully expect to be enforced all holiday season. If you’re planning to do several activities, three hours can go quickly.
  • Take the free Bayfront shuttle during the day. If you book daytime slots, the free Bayfront shuttle is a great way to skip parking altogether. Just know that it stops running at 7 p.m., so if any of your activities go later than that, you won’t be able to catch it home. Since our ice! slot is at 6 p.m., I’m paying for parking for peace of mind.

Know Before You Go

  • Tickets are online only at tickets.gaylordpacific.com. There’s no box office, and there’s a $9 processing fee per order.
  • Arrive 15 minutes early. Guests more than five minutes late to a timed slot aren’t guaranteed entry.
  • Day guest tickets are non-refundable.
  • Resort parking is $15 per hour or $45 per day for self parking, and $65 for valet.

My two cents on the event

I’m still excited to see the Gaylord Pacific Winter Wonderland in person. Having something this big come to Chula Vista for the first time is a win for our bayfront. But I want everyone to know what they’re getting into before they click “buy.” Read the fine print, leave room between time slots, decide which extras actually matter to your family, and don’t forget the free activities.

We’ll be there on Saturday, November 21, and I’ll put together a follow-up video with my honest thoughts on ice!, whether I think it was worth the price, and how any other activities turn out if we try them. In the meantime, check out the Chula Vista Living event calendar for more holiday happenings around town, and follow along on Instagram and Facebook at @livingchulavista so you don’t miss the video.
