Bonita-Sunnyside Library is nestled next to the Bonita Golf Course and is a hidden gem for the local community not far from Rohr Park. Its convenient location makes it an ideal spot for those who want to spend more than just a few minutes immersed in a good book.

Parking is plentiful on the south and east sides of the main building, which is shared with a small County museum. The lot also serves as a starting point for joggers enjoying the scenic golf course routes.

The Bonita-Sunnyside Library is especially popular with families, thanks to its numerous events tailored for kids. However, the lively atmosphere means it can sometimes be less quiet than you might expect from a library. That said, most of the time it remains a peaceful spot for studying, researching, or simply losing yourself in a book.

One thoughtful feature of this library is the location of the restrooms. They are situated just inside the main entrance but away from the reading areas, ensuring a more comfortable experience for all visitors. The staff here is known for their helpfulness, and they are always ready to assist with whatever you need.

A highlight of this library is its fantastic used bookstore, run by the Friends of the Bonita-Sunnyside Library. This volunteer-staffed shop is open daily from 1-3 PM, offering a wide selection of books at unbeatable prices—most ranging from just one to two dollars. The store is exceptionally well-organized, with books sorted by author, genre, and format. Whether you’re searching for a classic novel or something more contemporary, you will likely find a great read in like-new condition. Outside the bookstore, you’ll spot rolling carts filled with even cheaper books, often under a dollar. Don’t miss the cardboard boxes of recent donations—some of the best finds are tucked away at the bottom.
