Sushi Roll Chula Vista: A Taste of Mexico City’s Sushi Scene Here in the South Bay

Sushi Roll Chula Vista

If you’re craving something different in the South Bay, look no further than Sushi Roll Chula Vista, the first Mexican-style sushi house in the area. This locally-owned gem, which has its roots in Mexico City, offers a dining experience that’s as unique as it is delicious. Sushi Roll promises to deliver whether you’re a sushi lover or just curious about trying something new.

I had never been to Sushi Roll, and it was time to give them a try. They have been open for over three months, and after seeing their photos and videos on their Instagram account, I knew we had to give them a try. You can find them at 1187 Broadway in the same parking lot as Apple Tree Market. I will leave all their links below so you can easily find them in Chula Vista.

A Welcoming Atmosphere

As soon as you walk through the doors of Sushi Roll, you’ll feel right at home. The modern yet cozy decor invites you to settle in, whether you’re there for a casual lunch or a special dinner. The friendly staff adds to the warm ambiance, ensuring you’re cared for from start to finish. It’s the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy good food with great company.

I was surprised by how much room there was inside since the building does look small outside. If you have a big party, there is plenty of seating. They also have a cozy bar area or a sushi bar where you can watch them prepare your rolls.

There is plenty of seating at Sushi Roll Chula Vista. They also have a sushi bar or a bar top where you can get a meal plus a specialty drink.

The Menu – Where East Meets West

Now, let’s talk about the food. Sushi Roll’s menu is a creative blend of traditional sushi and Mexican flavors, offering something for everyone. Standout rolls like the “Mango Tango Roll,” which combines sweet mango with savory ingredients, and the spicy “Volcano Roll” are fan favorites. Each roll is made with fresh ingredients and presented with a touch of flair. It’s sushi, but not as you know it—expect a delightful surprise in every bite!

We started off with crispy rice and spicy tuna. The rice was crispy, and the tuna was so good. They even put a jalapeno on top. I decided to get a teriyaki beef bowl, which is plenty even to share. Based on everyone’s recommendations, we went with the “Mango Tango Roll.” This was my favorite. They also brought us some crunchy rolls to try. There was so much food, and everything was delicious.

My favorite was the sunset roll with Mango slices on top. They have a great menu with many specialty rolls. Be sure to check them out for lunch.

One of the best parts about dining at Sushi Roll? The prices! Despite the high quality and beautiful presentation, the dishes are very reasonably priced. This makes it a great spot for both sushi connoisseurs and those new to the cuisine. You get top-notch food without breaking the bank—what’s not to love?
