CV Slam Fest in Chula Vista

CV Slam Fest

The Chula Vista Slam Fest is a one-day live poetry festival taking place on April 25, 2026, at the Memorial Bowl Amphitheater. Hosted by Sunny and Anthony Azzarito of Poets Underground and supported by the City of Chula Vista’s Performing & Visual Arts grant, the event brings together poets from across the region and beyond for a high-energy celebration of spoken word, storytelling, and community. The festival features youth performances, including collaborations with students from High Tech High Chula Vista, as well as live music, food, vendors, and special guest appearances, including ELIGH of the hip-hop group Living Legends.

At the heart of the event is a competitive poetry slam, where selected poets will perform across three rounds for a chance to win a $1,000 grand prize and the title of CV Slam Fest 2026 Champion. More than just a competition, the festival is designed to create a welcoming and inspiring space for writers, performers, and art lovers of all backgrounds to connect, share their voices, and celebrate the power of poetry in a vibrant, community-driven atmosphere.
