Côta Vera Rewind Festival

3rd Annual Côta Vera Rewind Festival

Côta Vera’s Rewind Festival hits its third year on Saturday, September 12th, taking over Central Square Park from 2 to 9 PM. Admission is free for all ages, and while an RSVP is available through Eventbrite, it’s optional since the event is free either way.

Music runs the show, with three tribute acts splitting the bill. Fooz Fighters kick things off, channeling the Foo Fighters, a San Diego group that landed national recognition as finalists on NBC and E!’s Clash of the Cover Bands after being hand-picked by Jimmy Fallon’s team. Temptation takes the stage next with a New Order set, leaning into the band’s rock and electronica sound, “Blue Monday” included, still the best-selling 12″ single ever pressed. No Duh closes the night as one of the most respected No Doubt and Gwen Stefani tributes around, pulling from both the Tragic Kingdom years and Stefani’s solo catalog.

Outside the music, the park fills up fast. More than 25 local makers set up shop in the Artisan Village, a Retro Arcade brings back classic 80s games, and Food Truck Alley lines up a dozen trucks covering everything from tacos to dessert. Anyone 21 or older can grab a drink in the Beer Garden between sets.

This year’s headline attraction might be the Back to the Future Experience, with a full DeLorean Time Machine parked on site for photos. Throwback outfits are encouraged too, so expect plenty of neon, scrunchies, and windbreakers scattered around the park’s photo spots.

The festival is another sign of how much Côta Vera has grown into a real events hub in eastern Chula Vista, following its Friday Night Summer series from earlier this year. Between the free admission, packed lineup, and family-friendly extras, Côta Vera Rewind Fest 2026 looks set to be one of the standout community events in Chula Vista this September.
