Chula Vista Fire Department Open House 2026

Spend the day with the Chula Vista Fire Department at its annual Fire Prevention Open House, back at Fire Station 5 (341 Orange Ave.) this year. This family-friendly community event will feature firefighter demonstrations, fire apparatus and equipment, hands-on activities for kids, food and refreshments, and opportunities to meet the firefighters who serve Chula Vista.

The Open House is held on the final day of Fire Prevention Week and rotates each year between the city’s ten fire stations. Fire Prevention Week is observed nationally in October to remember the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 and raise awareness about fire safety and prevention.

This year’s theme is “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is A Superpower!” Visitors will learn basic fire prevention and safe charging tips during the fire station tour, while kids can enjoy interactive activities and get an up-close look at the equipment local firefighters use.
