Chula Vista Events happening in April 2024. Don’t miss them.

Chula Vista Day of the Child event

The weather is starting to get better, and that means we have fun Chula Vista Events coming back. I have five events you will want to mark down this month on your calendar, so make sure you get out there and enjoy them. We also have one particular event that I love to attend every year, the South Bay Earth Day event. Last year, it was a lot of fun, and I can not wait to see what they have lined up this year.

You know I will be taking photos and videos at most of these events. If there is one thing I love, it’s promoting all of our events. If I missed one or if you’re having an event, make sure you send me the details so I can add it to the list.

Friendship Popup Market

Sunday, April 7th & 21st, at the Illusion Dance Hall

You know I love to support small business owners, and the Friendship Popup Market is filled with locally owned businesses. Each event has a theme; this time, they’re having an Encanto theme on April 7th and a Hello Kitty theme on April 21st. The event starts at 11 am and goes until about 4 pm. Make sure you follow them on Instagram to see what special theme days they have coming up.

Make Believe Day at the Otay Ranch Town Center

Tuesday, April 9th, from 4–6 pm

I have not heard of this event before, so it might be their first time hosting it. Bring the kids to the Otay Ranch Town Center for Make Believe Day at the Mall. Kids can take part in fun activities, plus meet and greets with their favorite superheroes. There is also going to be a princess hairdo booth; my niece would love that. Kids are also encouraged to dress up for the event. More details are on their Instagram account below.

South Bay Earth Day
Remember, the South Bay Earth Day is on the South Side of the marina. This was a shot of last year’s event.

South Bay Earth Day

Saturday, April 13th, from 11 am to 3 pm at J St. Marina

This is one of the Chula Vista Events I love to attend in April. Last year was a lot of fun and they had plenty to see & do for the whole family. I’m excited to see what they have planned this month. The event will be at the J St. Marina on the side with the boat ramp. Many people needed clarification about the event location last year and went to the wrong side. I also suggest you get there early as the parking was a little busy later on in the day.

Day of the Child

Saturday, April 20th, 10 am to 3 pm at Memorial Park

If you have kids, this is one event you want to add to the calendar. From what I have seen posted so far on the city website, this year’s event will be much bigger. They even have a car show planned. There is always a lot to see and do for the kids, plus live entertainment all day. It should be a nice day, so get out and enjoy it.

Chula Vista Farmers Market
If you have not been to the Chula Vista Farmers Market in a while, then make sure you get out there. They have been added a lot of new vendors.

Chula Vista Farmers Markets

Remember, we also have our two favorite Farmer’s Markets in Chula Vista. The Downtown Farmers Market is every Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm. I have seen so many more vendors there, so be sure to check it out if you last got out there a while ago.

@chulavistafarmersmarket

We also have the Otay Ranch Foodie Market (excuse me, Farmers Market). Can we just call it what it is already? Anyway, this event happens every Tuesday from 4 pm to 8 pm. No matter what you call it, I still love going out there and trying out a new foodie vendor.

Is there an event you’re looking forward to this month? Don’t forget I do this every month, so you can always be updated on all the fun happenings around town. I will be out there at most of these events, so if you see me, be sure to say hi.

I have lived in this great community for over 30 years. In that time I have seen so many changes both good and bad. My goal is to promote this city and all of the good that goes on here. There are so many local events, small businesses and community groups making this city even better. You can always find me at the events taking photos. This site is a passion project of mine and I want to use this platform to get the community engaged. Get out and enjoy Chula Vista and make sure to follow me on all the socials for more!
