My favorite way to kick off the holidays in Chula Vista is back. Santa lights the nearly 50-foot tree at Otay Ranch Town Center at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, with free snow, hot chocolate, kids' giveaways, and the farmers market turning into a holiday night market from 4 to 7.

Tomorrow night Otay Ranch Town Center goes pink with free yoga, a Warrior Wall honoring local breast cancer fighters, and info on early detection, all during the Tuesday farmers market. I'll be there, and you should come too.

The new nautical-themed playground at Harbor Park opened today on the Chula Vista Bayfront. Paired with Sweetwater Park, there's more green space down there than we've ever had, and work on the next section along E Street is already underway.
