National Night Out at the Chula Vista Police Station August 6th
Mark your calendars, Chula Vista! Our city’s much-anticipated Chula Vista Police National Night Out is approaching. This free community event, happening Tuesday, August 6th, 4 PM to 8 PM, promises to bring residents and police officers together for an evening of fun and learning. The Chula Vista Police Department Headquarters will open its doors to the public, offering a unique opportunity for locals to get to know the officers who serve and protect us daily. Tacos El Gordo will also provide free food during the event.
A Night of Community and Connection Awaits
The event is not just a gathering but an interactive experience. It is expected to draw dozens of people of all ages, creating a vibrant atmosphere where community members can interact directly with law enforcement officers. This setting allows residents to see the friendly and approachable side of our police force, helping to break down barriers and build trust. It’s a chance to ask questions, share concerns, and learn more about what our police department does to keep our community safe.
I was there last year, and it was a lot of fun; plus, it gave my wife and me the chance to ask questions and get answers. I even got a photo with the Chief of Police, Roxanne Kennedy.
If you can not attend this event, be sure to follow me on Instagram or Facebook so you know when the next Coffee with a Cop event will take place. That event is also a great way to learn more about the Chula Vista Police Force and ask questions.
Building Bridges Through Positive Role Models
One of the highlights of the evening will be the chance for children and young adults to meet positive role models in law enforcement. For families, this is a valuable opportunity to introduce their children to potential future careers and to see firsthand the dedication and commitment of our officers. Seeing kids looking up to these role models and imagining their futures will be inspiring.
Chula Vista Police Chief Roxanne Kennedy emphasizes the importance of events like National Night Out, especially in times when law enforcement faces scrutiny. She points out that such events are crucial for showing the human side of police officers and reinforcing their role in helping and protecting our community.
The event will also highlight the department’s commitment to transparency and openness, inviting the public to see what goes on behind the scenes.
