The Otay Ranch Town Center has a grand kick off for their new Farmers Market

On May 13 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Otay Ranch Town Center kicks-off cherry-picking season as it hosts the center’s first-ever Otay Ranch Certified Farmers’ Market. The Farmers’ Market will be open every Tuesday 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Main Street. Otay Ranch Town Center welcomes the entire family to the Grand Opening on May 13, which will include a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with local city officials including Chula Vista Mayor Cheryl Cox. What’s in season? Fresh California produce at Otay Ranch Town Center’s Farmers’ Market. The Market features plenty of local farm fresh produce, beautiful fresh flowers, delicious specialty foods such as gourmet baby vegetables, dried fruits, preserves, nuts and other local favorites. Each week, customers have the opportunity to choose from 10,000 pounds of farm-fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables grown by certified local farmers. Patrons can also enjoy live entertainment and prepared food vendors including original Kettle Corn, authentic hand-made pastas, strudel, Austrian breads, Greek olives, cheeses, tacos and crepes as well as fudge and chocolates. The market will feature fun activities for children including lama rides, a jump house and face painters. There will be a section featuring local crafters including photography, a spinning wheel, hand-made hats and more.
The market’s mission is to offer locally grown, wholesome good produce that meets rigorous standards of the highest quality while leading the way to sustainability of the farm land and its’ small family farmers. The Otay Ranch Certified Farmers’ Market is operated by the Asian Pacific Historic Collaborative and managed by Community Crops. The Asian Pacific Historic Collaborative promotes and enhances the Asian Pacific Thematic Historic District in downtown San Diego.
